1 G00D ROADS FOR MARION. I Farmers Donate Labor, and the Coun ty Furnishes Rock-Crusher. Salem, June 30. Road work of a sub stantia! character is being done south " of Salem under the direction of County Engineer W. J. Culver. The road Ix-ing improved is the highway, about SS. miles from Salem and known as the Liberty road. A ledge of solid rock w as discovered at that point and convenient to the Salem-Jefferson and the Salem Buena Vista roads. Practical road building will be carried on by the county throughout the Sum mer since the court has similar proposi tions on file from other sections of the county that will nceive consideration when the work south of Salem is ended The rock-crusher was only recently purchased by the countv. Its capacity for eight hours is 60 to 80 cubi; yards of crushed rock in cubes of probably 1 inches. The rock can be crushed iuto different eizes, but this size is consider ed the most suitable for the section of the county now being treated.
