It is o be hoped tbat the people generally will attend this meetiog. The Boise (Idaho) talesman has the following among its ''personal'' notes: "C W. Xibley is bere from Raker City. Moorehead, editor of the Junction City Times, spent a few days in Uoseburg last week, as a witness in the circuit court. Mr. Moonhead is quite prominently mentioned a a candidate for j tint senator for the counties of Lane, Djugla and Josephine, and we believe that if Ltne county should present the came of Mr. Moorebead to the conven tion It would meet with the hearty ap proval of the repuo'icans of Douglas couoty. X)ns of the great and lasting bcne&ls which would no doabt full jw the estab lishment ot creameries at various points in tb.it county, would be the interest which would bs aroused among the farmers ot the county in favor of good roads. Heretofore the farmers have been 'able to do'all their freighting to the railroad duiing the period of good roads. Almost all the farm prod acts have been either markeleJ or stored io the warehouses before the fall rains set Li and render the roads impassible. One o! thejuiost serious obstacles to the cream ery business at points like Roaeburg, for instance, will be the fait that during parts of the year, the raids are in a very bad condition for even light wagons, and tor industry which will promote the building of good roads leading intj the market towns wound be one of the great est benefits to the country tbat could be InangnratM.
