Reliable Estimate of tbe Klondike

superintendent of the United States mint
io this c ty, estimates that the gold out
put of the Klondike this year hat been
only about j,OOt),000. Tbe receipts at
the miut here have amounted to about
1,750,000 since the first arrival of Yukon
gold a few weeks ago.
The receipt! of the .Seattle assay ollice
have been about the same. The largest
single deposit at the mint here was $1-0,
000. Mr. Leach estimates that about
1230,000 in dust aud nuggets has gone
East, and that there is about $1,000,000
of this season's output yet to reach this
couutry. It is stated that the dust
brought out by ibe North American
Trading A Transportation Company was
sent Knst, aud was not included iu Mr,
Leach's liguree. This amount might pos
sibly reach $500,000. 1' rom this showing
it would appear that $0,000,000 would be
a safe and conservalive estimate of the
