The city ol Santiago ia a typical troj -ieul
plce, with narrow, crooked htreetn,
and low, one-kloty dwellings and store1.

There was a serious acciden t near Dil
lard tbe other day ; a team ran away

the hack driving across the rivrr near
Dillard. Mrs. Gago was driving when
one of the lines broke, and one of the
little girls jumped out to catch the horses
but before she could get near them they
were off in a galop ; Mrs. Gago and
one of the little girls were thrown out,
leaving the baby and the one next to the
baby in the buggy. The horses run
a'oout a ijuarter of a mile, wheu going
around the grade near Dillard, one of tbe
horses went over the grade, npteltinglbe
buggy and throwing the two children cot
and over the trade. We are glad to
hear that no one was badly hurt.
