Subsequent Investigation seems to have settled the fact that the dead man I none other than John Case, who was arrested and charged with tbe holding up of a train in Cow Creek can yon in July, 1805, and is also Supposed by some to have bad a hand In tbe bold up in tbe Sheridan field last January. He is under indictment in tbe circuit court here, being out on bond. He is also due to apear for trial in tbe United States court at Portland next November. These are the Cow Creek cases.
