Gracie Plaisted is a dashiug and clover
ittlo soubrette, who lias a singing voice
of exceeding sweetness, and is as nimble
on her feet us a kitten. Years may come
and years may go, and it is to bo hoped
that Miss Plaisted's voice will remain as
sweet and as entrancing as it was when
eho sang last night at the Metropolitan
Theater in the comedy "Tina." -'Tina"
is a play of si familiar type, the hero be
ing a big-hearted German lad, who falls
into riches, and likewise falls into tho
clutches of an adventuress. From tho
latter predicament he is finally rescued
by Tina, a country lass, who loves him.
Miss Plaisted was tho Tina, Frank Va
lerga tho German youth, and Miss Dor
othy Rossmore the scheming woman.
Yalerga is a splendid singer, his fine
tenor voice having been heard in Sacra
mento on previous occasions. Lust night
l.o made a good impression with his
solos, and also when ho sang in duets
w ith Miss Plaisted. There is also in the
company a clover child, Nina Cook, who
sing3 well and dances gracefully. A lul
laby song in thn first act by Minnie Ells
worth was so well received by the audi
ence that a repetition was emphatically
demanded. In fact, all tho musical
numbers of the evening were encored.

Two Lives Saved,
Mr. Pluebo Thomas, of Junction City,

139 Florida St., San Francisco, suffered
from a dreadful cold, approaching Con
sumption, tried without result every
thing else then bought one bottle of Dr.
Kins's New Discovery and in two weeks
was cured. He is naturally thankful.
It is such results, of which these are
