on in this state for the past several
weeks over the senatorial election is
evidence that it would be much bet
ter if senators were elected by direct
vote of the people. That method of
electing senators might throw a few
"bosses" out of a job, bnt it would be
a much snrer way of fulfilling the ex
pressed wishes of the people.
