Taylor-street Sunday School, made one
of the most thoroughly enjoyable ama

witnesed. 11 le plot is a simple fairy
"tory, ami the inutic bright and pretty.
Tbe costumes and scenery were excel
lent, and the siuglug of some of the
voung ladies was a pleasant urprie.
Miss Lluie Anderson's eolo, " 'Tis Like
a Dream," was the g-m of the evening,
ami received a hearty encore. Mls
Mollie Caplee, aa Anna, was quite natu
ral, aud one Mould hardly have thought
It her first appearance before the foot
lights. Miss M. l'l Lamberson, Misses
May Prentice, Maggie Sutlierlund, Lalla
Dalton, Bessie Thompson, Hattle Hig
gins, Nellie Watkins aud Nellie Gates
sang and acted their respective parts in
a very acceptable manner. Mr. El.
Watkins as Peter Grim, a miser, was
acceptable, though he overdid It ut i
time?. All the choruses were suntr in
excellent time, and were given with
much force and cplrlt. Mr. Kinross,
under whose direction the operetta wat
giveu, deserves great praise for the
thoroughuei of his work. Mr. Vintou
ated as accompanist, aud, as ucnal,
gave complete satisfaction. The piano
used was a Vebr grand, from D. W.
Prentice A Co.'s music store, and was
an instrument of unusual sweetness ami
tower. The orchestra was under fair
control, and all concerned are to be
congratulated upon tbe success of the
entertainment.
