SPEIHG WEATHEE.
Lives there a growler witli whom the
disease has become so chronic, as not to
be silenced, if not eflectually cured, by
the surpassing beauty of our present
spring? If there is, he should certainly
be banished to Greenland or Alaska,
there to live in a snow hut and feed
upon train, oil, while the sunny skies,
luxuriant pastures, and green fields of
Oregon ever haunt his momory.
Truly we believe that we might al
most be pardoned for writing a disquisi
tion upon the weather, and should bo per
haps betrayed into so doing, but for the
lucky and timely reflection that our
readers have most likely not slumbered
and slept during the past three weeks,
but have enjoyed the spring as well as
we.
Suffice it to say that the skies n
bright, the pastures and fields green, air
soft and balmy, mud a thing of the past,
umbrellas and overshoes at dlscoun',
farmers jubilant, Grangers sanguine,
men tractable, women smiling, children
good-natured, everybody happy, and
our beautiful balmy, springy weather is
what ails them all.
Let us commiserate those luckless in
dividuals who know nothing by experi
ence of this land of Webfoot, but who
sit for six months of the year among
snow-drifts, masticate frozen apples and
potatoes with chattering teeth, and re
ceive with a cold smile of incredulity
our o'er true account of our most health
ful and delightful climate.

Statement: My son Henry, now six j ears of
age, had a severe attack of the malignant form
of scarlet fever about four years ago. My fam
ily pliyslclan. Dr. Hamlin, of Marysvilie, Cali
fornia, told me that the child had better havo
died, as he would be afflicted all his life with
sores of a .scrofulous nature, which hecomid
ered Incurable. The condition of the child up
to last April seemed to confirm the Doctors
opinion, ns he never was free lrom those
ernptlous sores. A number of our best physi
clans had endeavored in vain to give tiie child
relief. At the time I commenced giving him
Dr. Borzeau'sSmall-pox Remedy the clilM was
unable to open his eyes, his face was a com
plete mass of inflammation and corruption
running from both ears. He took two bottles
of the above-named medicine as perdirections.
In twelve hours from commencing to tnke tho
medicine, a favorable change was noticeable,
and in less than six weeks all traces of tlie old
affliction had disappeared. JNO.M. FRONK.
