From tho Oregon City Enterprise:
The contractors for rebuilding the fac
tory arc busily at work on the building,
and the structure will soon present its
former beauty. "We learn that it is the
expectation of the company to have the
factory in operation by the first of Au
gust. In order to do this it will require
a large force of mechanics. Tho upper
end of town presents a lively and busM
ness appearance.
This from tho Corvallis Gazelle: Po
lice matters opened out pretty lively
last Monday. We heard of two or three
fights and several drunks. The City
Treasury was replenished by cash and
"notes." Innocent children and help
less women are robbed by drunken
fathers and degraded husbands to pay
fines and "support the liquor-sellers in
ease and luxury, and yet wo are blandly
told "liquor never hurts anybody that
le'ts it alone."
At Lafayette, the other day, Mrs.
John Myers threw an old shawl over
her head and shoulders, left her hus
band holding the baby, went to a sa
loon, got a bottle of brandy, and started
on foot for Polk county. The local
paper heads its account of the incident
as the "Strange Conduet of a Woman."
Whereupon tho Bulletin very perti
nently asks, "What more strange of a
woman than if the conduct had been
that of a man?"
The entertainment given by Baker
Post, No. 1, G. A. It, at the Skating
Bink, on Tuesday evening, was one of
the most successful, musically, socially
and financially, ever given in this city.
The Rink was grotesquely decorated
with the National colors, hung in every
conceivable shape from the gas jets, the
ceiling and the walls. Notwithstanding
the inclemency of the evening, there
was a very large attendance, and after
tlie concert the many who chose to re
main tripped the heavy heel to dulcet
music tilt the wee small hours of the
morning. The proceeds of the enter
tainment are to be used to defray the
expenses of Decoration Day.

aUIIS TRULY WONDERFUL MEDICINE
Is warranted to expel all worms from the
Bowels and Stomach, except Tape and Chain
Worms. ....
The proprietor has taken much pains to test
the comparative merits or the princlial Worm
Medicines of the day, which, numerous as the
Entozoa themselves, have overspread the
land, each claiming for itself the name of spc
clflc; and, while we rrankly acknowledge that
many or them arc often successful, and do great
good, were we not assured that this combines
advantages possessed by no other worm medi
cine, Its introduction at this late day would not
have been attempted.
The pleasant taste and exceedingly small
quantity of this medicine required to test the
existence of worms, or to remove every one
from the system its operating In a few hours,
unaided by any other purge, together with lt
certainty of effect, constitute It one of the must
brilliant discoveries of the age.
Had we space here, scores of certiSeaies
might be adduced to show its progressive and
rapidly increasing reputation tor the last few
years; but to promulgate its fame and estab
lish Its character, we only ask for a trial.
Its speedy operation In all sudden attacks, aa
convulsions, colic, fits or snasms. cItm It an
-unrivaled superiority. Sent iiy express on re
ccipi ui price.
