erect a building which shall be worth
$50,000; $30,000 of this amount is to be

conclusions. The paintings that he ex

mission fee. They are the work of u
young Mr. Parrott, of Salem, who as an

His pictures are truly wonderful. The

The Statctmaii says: "Sometime, we
think last year, a discovery of electro
silicon was made In Polk county by Mr.
AI. Buckingham. Small quantities of
it wero tested but we are not aware Hint
anything was done at the time to render
the discovery of practical value. Lately
a small lot of it was tested at the Oregon
and California Railroad car shops. The
Chief Engineer at once pronounced It
an excellent polishing material, aud
stated to our informant that if, upon
further test, it should prove as good as
he then believed it, he should imme
diately order a large quantity for staple
use In the shops. We have since learnd
the Engineer did order a considerable
quantity, and that he has expressed the
opinion that the deposit will prove val
uable to the owner."
A Hard Answer. At a recent trial
the counsel for the prosecution, after
severely cross-examining a witness, sud
denly put on a look of severity, and ex
claimed: "Now, sir, was not an effort made to
induce you tell a different story?"
"A different story from what I have
told, do you mean V"
"That's what I mean."
"Yes, sir; several persons have tried
to get mo to tell a different story from
what I have told, but they couldn't."
"Now. sir, upon your oath, I wish to
know who these persons are."
"Well, you've tried about as hard as
any of them."
He was questioned no further on that
point.

good, were we not assured that this combines
advantage possessed by no other worm medi
cine. Its Introduction at this 1 ite day would not
have been attempted.
The pleasant taste and exceedingly small
quantity of this medicine required to test the
existence of worms, or to remove every one
from the system Its operating In a few hours,
unaided by any other purge, together with Its
certainty of effect, constitute it one of the most
brilliant discoveries of the age.
Had we space here, scores of certificates
might be adduced to show Its progressive and
rapidly Increasing reputation tor the last few
years; but to promulgate Its fame and estab
lish Its character, we only ask for a trial.
Its speedy operation In all sudden attacks, as
convulsions, colic, fits or spasms, gives It an
unrivaled superiority. Sent by express on re
ceipt of price.

ha-s facilities for successfully treating the sick
unexcelled by any cure. East or West
The physicians are skillful, and they havo
had long experience In thellygienic treatment
of chronic diseases. They employ In addition
to the common Wnter-Cure or Hygienic treat
ment, electricity in baths and. otherwise,
and inhalations of oxygen, which prove
very valuable In many cases of lung and throat
diseases. They also pay particular attention
to all diseases peculiar to women. They are
well known as editors, for the last threo years,
of tho "Paciflc Journal of Health," a periodical
which has high rank as one of the best popular
Health papers In the world.
We therefore confidently assert that In no
place In the world can the sick receive, for the
time and money expended, more substantial
benefit than In the Nicasio W.vter-Ccke.
