accept her misery as the " cross” laid up­

Recovers Stolen Stock.
Frank Jasper

by William Carver, returned yester­
day from Sandpoint, Idaho, where he
went with Sheriff h . K Brown for
the purpose of recovering his ani­
mals, says the Baker City Democrat.
Mr. Jasper, altogether, had six homes
stolen, while a neighbor of his lost
two. Two of these animals, the prop­
erty of Mr. Jasper, were recovered.
These animals he sold at Sandpoint.
The saddle which was stolen with

Miner* Want Relief.
The Montana Miners' and Smelt­
ers' Unions, have presented to Gov­
ernor Toole a petition asking for a
special session of the legislature for
the purpose of enacting special legis­
lation. covering the present bitter
fight, between the Clark and Heinze
factions, over the ownership of the
controling stock in the Montan* and
Boston and Amalgamated companies.
The mine shut-down occasioned by
this extended fignt threatens to work
untold hardship* in the Montana
mining towns during the coming win­
ter.
