And indeed the face resembled one so
brilliant was the light of her eyes. Daisy
was small, with a neat, cosy figure, in a
plain but pretty dress; and you saw at a
glance that this was one of these little
fingered fairies, wtoo are the blessings of
the homes in which they rule.
The father smiled and fondly passed
his hand over her hair. As he looked at

his brother, and then went and held out

As Uncle John uttered tho words,

Tiffany has just completed . an elegant
now silver dinner service, wholly Ameri
can, for Mrs. Bonanza Mackey. Tho
center pieco in of oblong form and is in
two divisions. Tho lower ono has a tray
for flowers, resting on sloping "sides of
looking-glass, which are set on an elab
orate silvor framework of floral design.
At ono side on the looking-glass i Mrs.
Mackay'a monogram in silver letters.
Tho upper division rests on elephants'
heads, six on either side, the tips of tho
trunks touching tho flower of tho frame
work bolow. The upper division is set
in a broad baud of inassivo silver, elab
orately wrought in rich flotal devices
in Oriental style. It consists of a second
tray for flowers, surrounded with
sockets for candles. Tho whole is sur
mounted by a fohr branch candela
brum of small size. Tho richness of
the workmanship and its delicate elnb
oration are beyond all praise. The
stvle of tho whole is thoroughly East
ern in character, recalling somo of the
fine pii-ccs of silver among tho Indian
magnificences of the presents offered to
tho Prince of Wales during his travels
in India, and exhibited at tho Lm
vernal Exosition of 1S78. The ele
phanU' heads in particuiar are mart
beautifully wrought. The character
istic corrugation of the skin of the fore
head and trunk is admirably repro-

of the rich tassclcd and embroidered
head stalls wherewith the htsdH are
adorned. The whole structure, which
rest upon twelve elephants' feet in
silver, is of immense weight, and will
tax the strength of two men to lift it.
