A man named Isaac Fredrichscs, a Rus
sian Finn, met "with a terrible accident
in the Tacoma savr-mill en Wednesday af
ternoon. While working near one t the
saws, a belt broke, and he was strCclc a
hard blow ia the face with a piece of tire
leather, throwing him upon the aaw. The
teeth cut through his right shoulder and
collar bone down close to the cavity of the
chest, cutting and tearing the flesh as only
a circular saw can do. Recovery is im

A National bank of large circulation,
has three times within the last few weeks
gone through the following operations
with the treasury : It lias delivered Its cir
culation one day and received Its bond, and
the next it has presented its bond and ask
ed to increase iu circulation. The Secre
tary has been obliged each time to cancel
80 per cent of the amount of greenbacks.
The operations were on a very considerable
scale, 1,000,000 in bonds each time. The
attempt has been made to induce other
banks in such attempt, to make legal ten
dcrs scarce.
W. B. Morris, the very efficient Superin
tendent of the N. W. S. Company, residing
at Boise city, lias been very slch, nigh un
to death, but Die last Statesman informs-us
that the prospects for his ultimate recovery

the banks of Butter creek. A bunch pluck,

showed more than twenty varieties.
Tbe sheep-shearing season here is nearly
over, and the shepherds are turning their
flocks toward the mountains. Cattle are
coming this way from the Immediate vi.

All is quite well along Butter creek-
