Byers (the proprietor) and Mr. Overhotaer (his valuable assistant) comparatively at leisure; hence we placed our reportorial auger in position and "went for thea. Freeman, under date of February 23, writes us from Spanish Hollow, Wasco county, Oregon, as follows: Mr. Samuel George of Butter creek start ed last Saturday a week ago for the Dalle with a drove of 00 bead of fine beef cattle. 3Ir. George is, I think holding bis steers for a higher price, although he says there is no buyer in the Dalles now. Wm. ThUbcn and Wm. Jones have a nice band of steers here for sale; about 37 head. Tii os. Ayers has got about 80 head of steers at home on Butter creek, and Is In the Dalles trying to sell them. G o I beef cattle at the Dalles now bring 414 cents.
