Tin ii -r in i in mi muhiiwi mium-i "m LKiXiii. There is much excitement east of the mountains regarding the new dig gings of Lemhi. A correspondent of the Walla Walla Statesman says of these mines : There is no mistake about them : they are good. There are now forty gulcues within ten miles of the discovery, which prospect well. Some are rocking and making big pay," there being about one thousand people in that vicinity mining. The country looks a good deal Tike Boise, and 1 think will be as good. Peacock & Mcllay gave two claims away last fall, thinking the country no account, which have since sold for $5,000. They are striking new gulches every day on both sides of the Lemhi ; there "have'also been some rich lodes struck, both silver and gold. There has also been struck as fine stone coal as you ever saw, and a lode of alum, which you cannot tell trom what you get in a drug store. So you see that there is a little ot everything here, and it will be a good country-. There has been quite a town built up in the diggings, called Leesburg. S. S. Hawthorne writes to the Idaho World that there is a great deal of good farming land on the Lemhi river, which is about the size of South Boise, and 75 miles in length. Leesburg, he says : Is four hundred miles from Idaho City, but not more than two hundred in a direct line. Bannack is eighty, and Virginia City one hundred an " fifty miles distant. There is an express that carries letters and papers to and from Bannack. Leesburg has a population of about 500, and more are coming every day. If the mines prove to bo as good as the people here think they are, byr next year our population will ex ceed that of Boise county. The mines are weil watered. Several ditches have been dug and others are in contemplation. One large ditch, three miles long and carrying five hundred inches, is almost completed. The ground needs no representation until June, when jumping will commence, as some men have as many as thirty claims, and it will be impossible for them to rep resent them ail. These mines are in the big bend of Salmon river, and there are six different districts, with some good ground known to be in each of them. How many of the three thousand claims recorded in Napias district may prove good, remains to be tested. A UCTION AND COM MISS ION JaJ9 AUCTIONEER! Corner of Front and Gal; streets, Portland. DR. HENLEY'S FOUNTAIN OF LIFE! And Great Blood Purifier ! IN EVERT PROGRESSIVE SCIENCE periods arrive when a new direction is imparted to its course. These epochs pro ceed from discovery of new facts shedding a light which changes ihe whole aspect of the science. The present is an epoch of this kind, and this great remedy now oii'cred to the public, in connection with the theory on which it is based, is destined to effect an en tire revolution in the treatment ot the dis eases of Scrofula and King's Evil ! by eradicating the disease entirely from the blood. The Fountain, of Life is composed eaUrely of vegetable extracts ; it contains no mercury or other m neral substances. The proprietor and discoverer of this sov ereign remedy challenges the ivorld to furnish anything, from the days of Esculapius to the present time, in the arcana of Medical Science, which can vie with or excel, the in trinsic properties of this Great Rlood Puri fier. Its value has been tested with the hap piest eiiect in the most obstinate cases of Scrofula, that battled the skill ot the most eminent physicians in the world. No matter what form the dreadful disease cf Scrofula and King" s Foil may have assumed, it can in no way be more safely and certainly arrested in its progress than !y using Henley s Great Rlood Ruriiier. Thousands have been swept into the gr ave, who, had they made a timely use of the Fountain of Life, might now be enjoying the blessings of health. It requires an article of real merit, and intrinsic value, to sustain itself. During the stern ordeal of public experiment the Fountain of Life has stood the test trial, and not been found wanting. DR. IIENLEV iruarante's to cure anv case of Scrofula or King's Evil in the world, and eradicate the disease entirely from the system or no charge made provided they will secure nim ins pay when tne cure is made. Fur Rt ft react: I would refer vou to L. L. Peck of Portland, Mrs. Walter Moultt, and numbers of others, as to what a mi raculous effect it had in a stort time, in cases that had banied the sk.i1! of physicians for vears. DR. WM.
