TOW AM) COUNT V.
The Oswego Iiiox Works. Mr. Geo. II.

Oswego IronCWorks of this county, which
contains some very interesting statistics.
Mr. Belden is superintendent of the works,
and conseqsnlly knows where.;! he

Tiie Okkgox Branch Mint. We have it
from perfect!' reliable sources that the
Oregon branch mint, which was located at
tlie Dalles, has been changed to Milwaukee,
in this county. There can be no objection
to this change, for one reason at least :
viz the convenience of public. If a miner
has to go to Portland to deal, and his dust
is sent back to the Dalles for coinage,
what loss of time is there to have the
branch mint at Milwaukie. It is nearer to
Portland, au l there is a good McAdamized
road, two lines of steamers, and a tele
graph.Qonnecting the places.
