Jay Bi-ach, the well-known Oregon horseman, re turned from tho eastern part of the stats yssterday, where he has met with thn success that Lis stock almost invariably commands. Thn last meet ing he attended was at Pendleton, and here .the famous Altamont, a sou of old Almont, scored a signal victory. It was in the free for trot, best three in five, fcr a purse of 150 and tho blue I ribbon of the society, that A I turnout proved his breeding, even to the sur prise of his friend. There were but three entries, Altamont, Tempest and Goldfoil, a trio of fast trotters very evenly matched if one could judge from the pool selling.
