All children are fond of candy, and if pure, a moderate amount is not in- jiniittis. In tlifse days of adulteration, that made at home is safest to give them. It is a simple matter to mako chocolate cornmelp: all that is ne-dd isone cup of swert milk, one cup of niola'se, half a cup of sugar, half 0. cup of grated chocolate, 1 piece of but tr ihe sizi'nf a walnut; stir constantly and let it boil until it is iliick, then tun: it out on to buttered plates; wfcen it begins to stitl'eii, inuke it in squares, so that it will break readily when colli. Cocoanut caramels are made of two cups of grated cocoanut, one cup of sugar, two table spoonfuls of flour, the whiles of three eggs beaten stiff; b.ikn on a buttered paper in a quic!r oven. Nice white candy is easily made. Take one quart of granulated sugar, one pint of water; two table spoonfuls of vinegur; boil just as you do molasses candy, but do not stir i'; you can tell when it is done by Irving it in cold wattr. Pull it ns if it were niotasfes candy; have a dish near by with some vanilla in it, and work in enough to flavor it as ou pull; put it in it cold room, and tlm next din you will Lave delicious cuiidv.
