Rev. ilr. Skidmore, of Ashland
holds service in tho M. E. Glinruh
next Sunday, to morrow, evening. He
stated last Sunday that he could preach
a better sermon to a large congrega
tion than to a small one, and that lit
would like to have-a large attendance
out to his meetings.
Mrs. Sarah McGiuley Greeley, of the
McGinloy Troupe, takes a Farewell
Benefit to-night. She h), without
doubt, the queen of the stage ; and her
qualities as an acttet-s iire oi the
liighest order; she is animating and
pleasing in "comedy ;" her voice a vol
ume ot rich melody, winning crowds
of admirers, and her dancing cannot- be

A committee of investigation was
appointed by the Society to ascertain

ado Ditch is now running water "to

announced the death of Gen. John T.
Croxton, '"United States ' Mnister,-
aged 37 years. Ho was a native "of
Paris, Kentucky, and served in the
late war on the Union side.
The cropsin Tamhill County are

in fact, than ever hefore at this time
of the year. A larger acreage has
