The term of the Jacksonville district school c)osed yes terday. Prof, ltobb intends having a vacation for awhile at least from school teaching. David Cronemiller is now black smilhing again in his new shop, which occupies the site where the old one stood. Mr. Caton is now esconced in his new building, and if you want any thing done in the boot or shoe line, give him a call. Those ladks who sent us that nice cake from the Relief Concert supper will accept our thanks therefor. Such remembrances make the heart of the printer happy. Relief Concerts. Elsewhere will be found the report of the Relief Con ceit Committee, by which it will be seen that the handsome sum of $000 was netted by these entertainments for the lclicf of the sufltriTS by the latn disastrous fire in our midst. The first of these entertainments wo noticed last week. Tlio other two were equally good. In Act, the whole af f lir was a magnificent success. Great credit is due the Execu tive Committee of the Relief Concerts for the prompt manner in which every thing was put on the .stage, and for the bucccss generally which attended these entertainments. Peters' Musical Monthly-. This periodical standi at the head of the musical publications of the coun try. It gives much more space to mnsiu than any of its competitors. In fact, it contains all the popular mu sic of the day. The music pages are numbered, so that they call be de tached and bound, making in the course of a year a volume of four bundled and thirty-two music pages, and all for three dollars. J. L.
