letters it appears to liave been lost in
1805 at which time, for Hovenil weeks,

packed around the trail. Tho bag had
tho appearance ot having been cut open,
yet as many of tho packages were tied
up it is not probable that tho letters
wcro tampered with. Tho bag was
delivered to tho Postmaster at Calla
han's and tho letters forwarded to their
