OUT FOR THE SPOILS IS IMPROVED MICH A Name to Make Men Shudder No Longer—Locomotor Ataxia Synopsis of Act Passed at Now in the List of Late Session of Congress Curable Diseases. Will Benefit Settlers. / Fresh proof is furnished daily that a path to recovery has been opened before the hitherto hopeless victims of locomo tor ataxia, the paiusof which are proba bly the most agonizing which tile human frame is ever compelled to endure. Kir. C. E. Jauvrin, of Hampton Falls, N. H., was attacker! aliout three years ago, by what he at first thought was rheumatism. He got temporary relief from liniments, but the trouble always returned with grater severity. After be had endured it ror more than n year, he begau to oousult physicians in great anxiety. He was startled by their verdict : “They all said,’’ states Mr. Janvriu, “ that I bad locomotor ataxia; that my spinal cord had degenerated, ami that no encouragement of a cure could be giveu. I am a young man yet and niv business requires me to travel daily, but 1 was compelled toremuin home months at a stretch, and at times I could barely shuffle my feet across the floor. “ My legs and feet seemed to be par alyzed. If I made any attempt to lift my feet I suffered the most excruciating pat us. I finally became convinced that 1 would be utterly iucapaeituted for business, and I simply gave up to de- spoudeney. “ One day in January. 1903, I hap pened to read in a pamphlet some re markable cures of nervous diseases ef fected by Dr. Williams’'Pink Pills for Pale People. Although a despairing man I fortunately decided to give them a trial. I used two boxes before I saw any improvement. Then I b< gan to have hope that they might possibly save me. “ My condition steadily improved and before the tenth box was entirely gone I was able to take up my wo. k again. My cure was complete in every respect, and it has been permanent, for I am now at work every day. I was made a perfectly well man in six months by using Dr. Williams’ Pink Pills. My confidence in them is naturally great. I am never without a box of them in my home, and 1 can scarcely say too much in their fa vor.” They are sold by all druggists throughout the world. An Incipient Boom. > Number* of prospectors are outfit ting at Grant’s Pass daily aud start ing for the mines on Thompson Creek and all through the Sucker Creek country. They are coming from dif ferent points as far away as Idaho and Southern California. The actual digging of gold at the Briggs claim, on Thompson Creek, has stopped for the present, as they are now engaged in bringing a ditch from the headwaters of Thompson Creek to the mine for the purpose of supplying water. All of the dirt moved will be sluiced or puddled in order to get all the values they carry. Already a townsite hrsbeen located and it is reported that there are no* 50 tents up and prospectors with pack animals are art ¡ring daily. Another ■ trike of a large body of rich ore has beeD reported rear the Briggs find. Peculiar To Itself In vfaat it is and what it does—con taining the best blood-purifying, alterative and tonic substances and effecting the most radical and per manent cures of all humors and all eruptions, relieving weak, tired, languid feelings, and building up the whole system—is true only of Hood’s Sarsaparilla No other medicine acts like it; no other medicine has done so much real, substantial good, no other medicine has restored health and strength at so little cost. “I was troubled with scrofula and earn« near losing my eyesight. For four months 1 could not soo to do anything. After taking two bottles of Hood's Sarsaparilla I eould see to walk, and when I had taken eight bottles I eould see as well as aver.” Susi* A. He says that Koepp Bros, of Eugene bavediscovered an immense b jdyof excellent ore, assaying from $17 upward, near where Bolen creek emp ties into 8ucker Creek. It is many feet wide and some mile« long, rival ing the fatuous Yank ledge in extent, aod being much rioher in gold. The Koepps have located 9000 feet for themselves and others. Tbev think they have discovered a veritable bo nanza. Some one has asked how Cleveland got bls money. Fishing, of course In Bond brook. They were arrested on a charge of bolding up a miner named Murray, who was enjoying a “high lonesome’’ at the time—he did not have muob money on him, having deposited It,and wasentlced by a convivial companion to the bridge near the old brewery, where an assocl- ate was waiting with a club. Murray was struck a heavy blow on the head, thrown over the bridge Into Gilbert creek, which has very little water in It at present. He regained consciousness in time to find the two men going through him, and then relapsed into a comatose state, remaining so for two or three hours, when he was discovered by the police. His wound was a severe one and required several stitches. Nevertheless M. failed to appear when wanted to give evidence against Yo- kum and Williams, evidently having skipped for other scenes.
