York. In 1857 she emigrated to Kent
county, Michigan, and on August 7,
1859, was united in marriage with
•John W. Clark. From this union five
children were born, three of whim
survive their mother: Mrs. II. A. Mil­
ler of San Francisco, Mrs. Angie Hale
of Roseburg, and Mrs. It. A. Clark of
Sain’s Valley.
Mrs. Clark joined the M. E. Church
in childhood. In 1883 the firmly
moved to Oregon, and in the follow irtg
year she e united with the church at
Cornelius, Washington county. In
1899 they came to Jackson county.
The funeral services w ere conducted
at the home, hy Rev. Edwin B. Lock­
hart, Sunday afternoon, the remains
being interred in the Central Point
cemetery. Many friends were present
to pay their last tribute to thedepart-
ed and express their sympathy for the
bereaved family. A number of beauti­
ful floral pieces were laid on the new-
ly-niac’e mound by loving hands and
sorrowing hearts. Mr. Clark and his
family have the condolence of the en­
tire community.
Mrs. Clark was a truly good woman,
and Iter demise is mourned by all who
knew her.
