The Italian doctor has successfully used a powder composed of the chlorhydrate of quinine, one part; bicarbonate of so da, one part; gum arable, twenty parts, 'lite sot la is intended to dissolve the mucus, the gum arable to increase the adherence of tl>e powder on the bron chial passages. The remedy, whatever may be the truth of the theory on which it is foun ded, has the merit of simplicitly; and if its application did little good, it could not do much harm.
