DCCRATIC PLATFORM
)O"TH> AT SALEM ON APRIL
1>7G, BY THE STATECONVENTION
BOYS’ and GIRLS'
The Democracy of Oregon in Convention
mlJed, re-allirins the platform of prinei-
ples adopted at the last Democratic State
Convention, ami adopt the following in ad
dition to the same, to-wit :
Resolved, That the action of the Demo
cratic House of Representatives id' tin* Uni
ted States, in ferreting out corruption and
bringing crim.nais to justice, merits the
commendation of every true patriot.
Resolved, That the large influx of Chinese
immigration to the States of the Pacific
coast ot America has l»een a curse to the
country ; that the Chinese» are a people that
have not, and never can be brought to have,
any interest consistent with the welfare and I
prosperity of our Government ami its insti
tutions : ami that we pledge ourselves to
use our best endeavors for the adoption of
such measures as will prevent and cure this
growing evil.
Resolved, That our inestimable system of
common schools, and our no less valuable
scheme of religious toleration, are the work
manship of lH»moeratic hands, and tin»
fruits ot l>ernocratic policy; that it is the
exclusive right ami duty of the State to
provide tbr the education of its children ;
and it havinir been a principle established
in the forinatiun of our State Constitution
that no public tumls of any class should be
used for sectarian schools or societies we
declare our faithful adherence to this prin
ciple, and oppose any invasion of it ; that it
Is the inalienable right of every citizen to ,
worship God according to the dictates of I
his own ennseien«,e, and no political disabil
ities should be incurred by reason of relig
ious l>elief ; and while we will defend these
principles and institutions to tin'full extent,
we deprecate all attempts to raise sectarian i
issues as utterly uncalled for and reprehen I i
sible and meriting the emphatic condemna
tion of every good citizen.

[Letterfrom a P>st master.]
“A ntioch , 1 m .., Dec. 1, 1874.
Messrs. J. R. Rose <£• (’o..-—My wife has,
for a long time, been a terrible sufferer from
Rheumatism. She has tried many physi
cians and many remedies. The only thing
that has given her relief is Centaur Lini
ment. I am rejoiced to say this has cured
her. I am doing what I can to extend its
sale.

»
W. H. RING.”
This is a sample of many thousand testi
monials received, of wonderful cures effect
ed by the Centaur Liniment. The ingredi
ents of this article are published around
each bottle. It contains Witch Hazel, Men
tha, Arnica, Rock Oil, Carbolic, and ingre
dients hitherto little known. It is an indis
putable tact that the Centaur Liniment is
performing more cures of Swellings, Stiff
Joints, Eruptions, Rheumatism, Neuralgia,
Sciatic, Caked Breasts, Lock-jaw, Ac., than
all otlier Liniments, Embrocations, Ex
tracts, Salves, Ointments and Plasters now
in use.
For toothache, earache, weak back, itch,
and cutaneous eruptions, it is admirable. It
cures burns and scalds without asear. Ex
tracts poison from bitesand stings, and heals
frost-bites ami chilblains in a short time.
No family can afford to be without the Cen
taur Liniment, white wrapper.
The (’entail r Liniment, Yellow Wrapper, is
adapted to the tough skin, muscles and
flesh of the animal creation. Itsetfeet upon
severe east's of Spavin, Sweenv, Wind Gall,
Big lleatl and Poll Evil, are little less than
marvelous.
Messrs. McClure A Co., Druggists, cor.
Elm and Front Sts., Cincinnati, O„ say :
“In our neighborhood a number of team
sters are using tlx1 Centaur Liniment. They
pronounce it superior to anything they
have ever list'd. We sell as high as four to
five dozen bottles per month to these team
sters.”
We have thousands of similar testimoni
als.
For wounds, galls, scratches, ring-bone,
Ac., and for Screw Worm in Sheep it has no
rival. Farmers, Livery-men and Stock
raisers have in this Liniment a remedy
which is worth a hundred times its cost.

still offers to the afflicted the positive assur
ance of honorable treatment and rapid and
absolute cures, as can be shown by thous
ands of testimonials from grateful Patients.
Let me call the attention of those who suffer
from some of the effects of
SEMINAL WEAKNESS.
The preservation of health and life is de
pendent upon the projier condition of the
procreative functions and any weakness or
cause of weakness of the generative organs
or their uses is a direct attack upon the gen
eral health as well as a sure destruction—if
not properly cured—of the organs that are
the pride of one sex and the blessing ot tho
other. In youth is laid the foundation of
much of the misery of after years by the in
dulgence ofthe most destructive habits mak
ing life a curse and spreading weakness and
ruin among mankind, for it is a well known
fact that the indulgence in solitary vice,
even in the slightest degree, plants seed of
weakness in the system that grow to a har
vest of disease and shame in after years.
YOUNG MAN,
If you experience any weakness you should
not delay, for a day may imperil your
health if not your life. In all forms of
weakness and premature decay a cure is
guaranteed by the Doctor to the young,
middle-aged or old, without exposure or
hinderance from business. The remedies
are purely vegetable and of a nature that
leaves n»> taint liehind. Observe the sym-
toins and hasten to check the course of tho
complaint, if you exjierience any ot them
—nightdischarges, slight discharges at other
times, trembling, anxiety, forgetfulness,
contusion, pain in the back, limbs or body,
forebodings, indigestion, timidity, aversion
to society, loss of power, want of control,
variable temper, attacks of sickness akin to
biliousness, deposits in urine, irregular
bowels, etc., etc.
TERRIBLE POISON.
Among the most subtle and virulent of
poisons in the human blood is that arising
from venereal taint, often breaking out,
after years of apparent cure, in hideous
sores upon various parts of the body Its
great danger lies in the fact that it is given
to the innocent partner or to the unborn
child without showing in tho person origi
nally contracting it.
THE USE OF MERCURY
Only aids in this terrible deception by dry
ing it iq>on the surface and driving it back
into the blood. All venereal poison is a
blood poison and can be communicated
in the blood and the only certainty of pre
vention ot transmission is in the positive
cures of the reform treatment practiced at
the Dr. J. ('. Young Medical Institute, com
prehensive, scientific and thorough, having
received endorsements as the liest of all
modern practice. Recent eases cured in a
tew days and chronic cases with remarkable
rapidity. Our test of the presence of the
taint in the blood are never failing.
TO FEMALES:
There are no class of complaints that so
enlist the sympathies of the medical mind
or so commands its gravest thought ami
st inly as those that afflict women. The
Doctor after years of patient investigation
and treatment is enabled to assure them rap
id and thorough cures in all the complaints
incident to the sex. The weak can hope for
strength and the suffering for relief and cure.
Those xvho require personal supervision
the Doctor can lurnish with apartments
