Jacksen Co. Democratic Convention.
A Democratic County Convention for
Jackson countx is hereby called to be held
at the Court House in Jacksonville on
Saturday. May 13. 1S16,
at 1 o’clock r. M., for the nomination of a
full legislative ami county ticket and for
the transaction of such other business as
may properly come before it.
It is recommended that the primary meet­
ings in the various precincts tor the election
of delegates to tin

The several precincts will be entitled to
one delegate for every twenty votes east for

I he L ost F ound .—Although some 1
time has elapsed since the safe of Kah­
ler Bros, was robbed, they ever felt
confident of recovering at least the
large nuggst, and have from tho first
entertained the opinion that it was ■
secreted in the neighborhood of the
drug store. Last Monday they en- |
gaged R. S. Dunlap to clean out the
yard behind the store in the anticipa­
tion of finding the whereabouts of the
missing piece, and fortunately’ their
hopes were realized, for, while raking
the rubbish from under Mrs. Neuber’s
store, he brought forth a purse which, .
upon examination, proved to contain
the nugget. When stolen, it was ly­
ing loose in tho safe, and tho thief,
after cutting open the purso and ab­
stracting the money contained therein,
[»lit tho specimen in it, and hid tho
whole behind tho foundation of Mrs.
Neuber’s store, where it was found.
Search has also been instituted for the
key’ of the safe and three trade dollars
stolen at tho same time, hut with no
success. In the recovery of tho nug­
get over half of the amount originally’
taken has been recovered, which is a
big item to the losers. It was certain­
ly a lucky’ clean-up, and the owners
will doubtless freeze on to the speci­
men with increased fondness.
