says : “There are three ways for a
nation to acquire wealth, first by war
—this is robbery ; second by com- j
merce—this is frequently cheating;’
then by agriculture—this is only the
honest way whereby a man receives a .
real increase of seed thrown into the
ground, into a continual miracle,
wrought by the hand of God in his
favor, as a reward for his innocent life
and his virtuous industry.” Wash

most healthful, most useful and most
noble employment of man.” And yet,
there is no occupation which offers so
little to attract our most prominent
youth as agriculture or farming, pro
vided the lives of many of our farmers
are samples of the lives they must
lead—their farms examples of the
farms they must own and till.

Every year increases the popularity
of this valuable Hair Preparation;
which is due to merit alone. We can
assure our old patrons that it is kept
fully up to its high standard; and it
is the only reliable and perfected prep
aration for restoring G ray or F aded
H air to its youthful color, making it
soft, lustrous, and silken. The scalp,
bv its use, becomes white and clean.
It removes all eruptions and dandruff,
and, by its tonic properties, prevents
the hair from falling out, as it stimu
lates and nourishes the hair-glands.
By its use. the hair grows thicker and
stronger. In baldness, it restores the
capillary glands to their normal vigor,
and will create a new growth, except
in extreme old age. It is the most
economical H air D ressing ever used,
as it requires fewer applications, and
gives the hair a splendid, glossy ap
pearance. A. A. Hayes, M.D., State
Assayer of Massachusetts, says, “The
