A ccident .—Wm. Finley, a -tep-on
of Sam. Phillips, was severely injured
by being dragged by a horse, while
hunting rattle on Applegate.
The
accident occurred in the evening, and
before assistance could be rendered
him he was nearly frozen. Dr. Belt
was called, and the boy is now do­
ing well.

the season for killing certain kinds of
game will close, we herewith repub­
lish a synopsis of the game law. The
Act passed at the late session of the
Legislature, makes it unlawful to kill
or offer for sale any deer, moose or elk
during the months of February, March,
April, May and June. It is unlawful
to kill or offer for sale any wild swan,
mallard duck, summer or wood duck,
spoon-bill duck, or black tluck during
the months of April, May, June and
July ; except that farmers are ¡>er-
mitted to kill geese or tlucks in said
months if necessary to protect their
growing crops. It is unlawful to kill
or offer for sale any grouse, pheasant
or sage hen during the months of
April, May, and prior to the fifteenth
day of June each year; or any quail
or partridge, during the months of
April, May, June anti July. It is un­
lawful take or kill, at any time, any
elk or deer for the sole purpose of ob­
taining the horns or skin of the same.

the case of Gaston vs. Stott and Wag­
oner, has been decided in favor of
Gaston. The decision holds that the
State is entitled to all swamp lands
within her boundaries.
