citizen of St. Helens, who had not soen for several
years out of that eye, previous to tho operation.
We are informed that the operation was successful
in restoring the sight ofthe diseased eye, and there
is good reason te believe that the oure is perfect
and his sight be permanently benetitted.— Salem

S urgical O peration on tub E yr .—Yesterday
we witnessed an entropian operation by Dr. Chas.
Wilson, on the eye of Mrs. J. B. Wright, who has
been afflioted from childhood, and became nearly
blind. Mrs. W. was obliged to keep the eyelashes
pulled out; and the surgical operation was forthe
purpose of restoring the eyelid to its proper posi
tion. A portion of the eyelid, and muscle, about
three-fourths of an inch long, and half an inch
wide, was removed, and the edges of the wound
sewed together. Dr. Wilson performed a similar
operation on the other eye last Saturday which
gave such satisfactory relief she determined to have
both eyes operated npon. Dr. Wilson has cured
many similar cases, and is confident that his pa
tient will be restored to good sight.— Roteburg En-
