scarring for life, men, women and chil
dren. A simple knowledge of the in
flammable nature of the fluid may put a
stop to nearly all the accidents. As the
oil burns down in the lamp, inflammable
gas gathers over the surface. When the
oil is nearly consumed, a slight, jar will
inflame the gas, and explosion follows.
If the oil is not allowed to burn over half
way down, accidents are impossible.—
