The. au thorities have been very vigilant in this re spect, yet with all their efforts several bridges have been broken; we think this mainly due to the fact that e«ery bridge in the county heretofore built, has been built more with a view to cheapnes than durability. The re sult is that the county has been mulcted in damages to the tune of $500—in the “Mi nor" case—with other cases in embryo. We have go »d reasons to believe that the era of cheap bridges is at an end ; the present County Commissioners are determined to have good roads and good crossings. So xnote it be.
