At 5 o'clock Thursday last the
steamboat Senator exploded her Boil
er near the Willaraet River Trans
Co.'s wharf , nialiing a wreck of the
vessel and killing or wounding near
ly the entire crew. The. shock was

buildings, shake froin base to roof.
The cause, of ilia explosion is un
known The boat drifted helplessly
down sthe stream and wasjpulled
ashore some distance below town on
