Chicago and St. Louis are now
having a controversy about the size

paper said recently that the young
men ofChicago do not use any dash
board for their buggies now as the
Chicago girls' feet are so big that
'dashboards are useless. Another

woman who put her foot into the
Mississippi at Memphis and the wa
ter raised three feet at St. Louis
Tne Clackamas county Council of
Grangers passed the following reso
lution at the last session: "That we
as good Patrons of Husbandry are
strongly opposed to the employment
of Chinese laborers, and that we will
do all that we lawfully can to pre
Tent their being so employed by our
citizens, and more especially by our
farmers, and wo respectfully request
nil members of our Order, through

sense and common humanity did
