I suppose I am only one of thousands of native aous and pioneers who would feel that In losing the old- fashioned fair they would be losing an old friend and one of the most pleasant reminders of the "early davs." An obi man Is not of much value, hut we are generally willing lo let him live a while for the work he has done. So we are willing to help the fair to live a while yet for the pleasures with which It has filled our youthful days anil dreams. I suppose newcomers cannot ap preciate the sentimental side of the fair. But for many years It was the only state festival the only thing which drew the whole people or the state together.
