Tbe meeting will probab ly be held the latter of the month. Philomath Cows The city fathers of Pblletuath are an accommodating set. They enacted a law that no one householder should pasture more than two cows on the public streets and his neighbors prem ises. Yet this liberal allowance of the fence-sidewalk- fruit tree- garden des troyer Is not enough for the cow ad mirers of the collage town. A Philo math correspondent t.ftbe Corvallls Times writes: "Tbe city council passed an ordi nance some time ago requiring that no householder should allow more than two cows to run at large. This is certainly a beneficial law as lt Insures pasturage lor tbe town cows, one some parties are trying 10 evaua tne inw ny quibbles and technicalities and limit ing trouble and expense to the city In stead of helping to enforce laws which are plainly for'ltn Ir owu benefit."
