Last evening the Ismrtl of managers of the Free I tend ing room gave a re ception to the contributors who so gen erously siilwcrlU'd regular payments toward Its support. A musical ami literary programme was well rendered, both rooms tieiiig nearly tilled with guests. A great muny present, al though regular contributors, were there for the first time last evening. They expressed much surprise and gratification nt the excellent condition til which they found the work ami es pecially the amount and good quality of the additions of literary work, Uith newspapers and mngar.iiies, as well ns hooks.
