Maxwell died In Lan county, Oregon, May
1, 1879, at th age of 63 yaara, and was a
resident of said county; that at the time of
ber death sh was the owner of property

Laat Tuesday morning Patrick Kelly, who

Trout creek, thirty miles northeast of Prine
ville, was fonnd dead in hi tent by Soottie
Donaldson, with a bullet through his bead.
Mr. Donaldson earn in town to notify the
coroner, and in the absouce of Coroner
Wood, Justice Bell, accompanied by Dr.
Belknap, Chris Cohrs and Geo. Clloe, went
to th scene of tbe accident on Wednesday

Justice Bell found that th deceased wss a
nativ of Inland, about 28 yssrs old, and
that hs cams lo hi death by accidentally
hooting himself either on th 4th or 6th ol
the present month. The remain of th
dead man were found lying in his bed in
ths tent, with a ritle lying on hi breast and
a bullet hols through his bead. Tb bullet
had enter! th light eye and passed out
through the upper part of his bead, causing
instant death. Little is known of Mr,
Kelly except that be waa a steady, Industri
ous young man, who bad been herding
