There are employed on the road 250 Chiua men uud about 200 white men besides about CO teams. An additional force of Cbiuumeu have been ordered and will be shipped from Ban Francisco as soon as they can be gath ered together. There is a presiug demand for while men aud teams, which cannot be obtained here in sulSoient uuuibere. It is understood tbe Kepublicau members of the census committee have reached an agreement upon the re-apportionment bill, based upon a repieseutation of 35G members of the house. Tbe ratio of representation is one member to each 173,901 population. Tbis is about'tbe lowest number which will permit each state during the text decade to retain iti present membership. The states which will gaiu in representation are: Ala bama 1, Arkansas 1, California 1, Colorado 1, Georgia 1, Illinois 2, Kansas 1, Massa chusetts 1, Michigan 1, Minnesota 2, Nt braska 3, Missouri 1, New Jersey 1, Oregon 1, Pennsylvania 2, Toxai 2, Washington 1, Wisconsin 1, or 21 iu all a net Republican gain of 10.
