The new survey for a roul from Gardiner, to the Si usUw comes by the way of South Hlough, and the people near the lakes are very much dissatisfied with its location. A petitioo for change of route ia beiug circu lated, but it will probably have the effect of furnishing a little more waste puper for the Douglas court. D. J. The case of State versus Joe Wooley, in dictment for murder iu the first degree, waa not even called. This is a peculiar and orig inal way of disposing of such cases, but the truth ia the grand jury that indicted Wooliy bad no more authority for doiug so than they had to hang him outright. The District attorney says that there were no more grounds for an iudictment of any kind, and as f r an iudictmeul of auch a grave nature as the one returutd, it was simply absurd, and would have been ridio ulous had it not been seriously reported by several newspaper'' that were not aware of the true facts iu the case. Peter Thomp son's case, the anrue, went the same way. Millinery and Dressmaking-.
