they can nevej repay.
The lute freshet played aacrilegiotie tricks
on tbe ancient burial places of Ibe Iudiuns
along Rogue river. Iu several places these
old long forgotten graves were ruthlessly
lorn open by the Irreverent wsters and the
bones were rudely scattered among the pro-
saio debris of white men's febce., stables
and coidwood. The tribe who once bunted,
fished and warred along llogue river were
long ago bauished from (bis region, aud now
no friendly rye beholds tbe silent memen
toes of a former people.
Jumes G. Blaiue has aged very much this
winter? Ilia domestic alllictinn have
crushed his proud besit, and done more to
furrow his cheeks and whiten his biiir thun
years of political disappointments. Tbe high
est political honors no longer possess the at
traction that they did wheu be wait sur
rounded by an uubroken family circle.
.
Tbe great effort in Washington just now
is to get up a measure that will be at tbe
same time constitutional, entitled: "A Bill
