A correspondent of the East Oregonian
has the following interesting description of
Mr. W. S. Ladd:
Speaking of Ladd, reminds mc of passing
that gentleman's residouco the other evening
ist as the old man waa entering. His Car
riage hailed iu the rear of his residence. A
body servant, who sits bosido the driver,
alighlod, assisted his charge to the ground
aud placed a pair of crutches uuder his arms.
Slowly the old cripple dragged himself

this city from Jones A Co. 's mill, that a
