A San Francisco dispatch rends as follows: Several months ugo the farmers of the Wil lamette valley were victimized by a crowd of shippers who culled themselves "The Empire Seed Company. Deatty, treasurer of the company. Detectives Leon nnd Hund ley arrested Ilogan as-he was walking down Bush street, at 7 :5") Monday evening and n few minutes later brought iu a man who gives the name of Chss. Warner. From papers found on the latter, his name is not us he gave it but F. Rhinehardt, under which uaiuo he was authorized to solicit for the company. The detectives think neither of these is his light name, ns he Huswers the description of Beatty, whom the prisoner says is iu Victoria, 11. C. The detectives shadowed Mrs. Hognu from the Russ House, from the safe of which she drew $2,000 to go shopping with, until ho returned to her ho tel. As Mrs Ilogan went out imiuedistely after her husband's arrest, it is imposible to see her. The amount involved in this fraud ulent scheme approximated $10,000. The prisoners claim Unit ex-Governor Wood, of Portland, is president of the company, nud that a Rev. W ithorow.of Portland, is mana ger. Poor Old Tom llrml. The following is the evidence of the witness es and the verdict of the jury: S. B. Ou cutting oil' his clothes I found him covered with filth nud dirt. I think, from appearances, he had been nlone for ten or twelve days. He was certainly one of the most disgusting objects of humanity I ever witnessed. Ho wns ut terly unable to help himself. Ou examina tion I found that he had inllamatioii of the bowels nnd dropaicnl complaint, nud I think his death was caused from the above com plaints and the want of proper earn which he could not have, hu being alone. He was neglected by his employer, which, indirectly, was the cause of his death. We, the undersigned jurors, summoned to inquire into the death of Thos.
