New Medical College.
Oreuonian.
Some weeks ago the board of regents of the
Oreeon State University authorized the lor
tnatiou of a medical college as part of the
nniveraitr. and issued a charter therefor,
The necessary steps towards the complete
organization of this department have beeu
taken. The faculty has beeu duly elected
and arrangements are about completed
for securing appropriate lecture halls, dis
secting rooms, hiliaratory, etc., which will
be in this city. The college has exclusive
control of clinics at the Good Samaritan and
St. Vincent hospitals, and a corps of dldac-
tioand clinical lectiucs, nearly all of whom
are teachers of eincrietice iu medical educa
tion, have beeu secured. The school will
open under promising auspices. Men and
women will be auiniiteti upon equal terms,
The session will commence in October next,
and continue until April of the following
year. The diploma granted to tbiwe upon
whom the degree of doctor of medicine shall
