Hair Vigor
restores, with the gloss and tresliiiesi ot
youtjt, faded or gray hair to a natural, rich
breau color, or deep black, as may be desired.
' D' Its sua light or red hair may be darkened,
tlthj hair thickened, and fcaldness often,
"though not always, cured.
' It checks falling of tha hatr, and stimu
lates a weak aud sickly growth to vigor. It
prevents and cures scurf and dandruff, aud
aeals nearly every disease peculiar to the
scalp. As a tad Irs Hair Dressing, the
Viooa Is unequalled ; It contains neither oil
nor dye, renders the hair soft, glossy, and
silken hi apiiearanee, and lnisrts a delicate,
agreeable, and lasting perfume.
Mr. C. P. DuicnKR writes from A'ii, O..
J it'll 3, Iss2 : lAfi fall my hair commenced
falling out, ami In a short time I became
nearly bald, I used part ot a bottle of
Avkh's Haih Vioiiii, which stopped the fall
ing of the hair, ami started a new growth, I
have now a full head of hair growing vigor
ously, and am convinced thst but Tor the
use of your preparation 1 should hare been
autirely bald."
T. W. Dowrn, proprietor of the Mr.irthur
(Ohm) Kxiiiirrr, says : " AVKR'a Haih Vigor
Is a most excel lout preutraliou forthebalr,
I speak of it from my own esperlenee. lis
use promotes the growth of new hair, and
makes it gliaisy and soft. The Viook Is also
a sura cure lor dandruff. Not within my
knowledge has the preparation ever failed
to give entire satisfaction."
sin. Axocs Faiiihair, leader of the
celebrated " Kalrbnirn Family " of Scottish
Vocalists, writes from Hmlnu, Miut., Ptb. 6,
I8KO : Kver since my hair liegsn to give sil
very evidence of the change which Meeting
time procured!, I have used AVer's Main
Vioiir, and so have been able to maintain
an appearance of youlhfuliiess a matter of
eunslderahle consequence to ministers, ora
tors, actors, and In fact every one who lives
In the eyes of the public."
Mils. O. A. TUKsrorr, writing from III Kim
S'., t htrUtlmeu, Man., April 14, law, saysr
" Two years ago about two-thlnls of my hail
eame olf. It thinned very rapidly, and I was
fast growing bald. On using AYKH'a Hair
Viiiiiii the fnlliiiK stopiwd and a new growth
eomuienceil, mi l In alxiut a mouth my head
was completely covered with short lialr. It
has continued to grow, and is now as good as
b(rolt fell. I regularly used but one bottle
of the Viiiok, but now usa It occasionally as
a dressing."
We hare hundreds of similar testimonials
to tha efficacy of AVer's Hair Vigor, It
needs but a trial to convince the most skepti

His career in journalism lasted nix

went to pieces Mr. Blaino joined hands
with Gov. Anson P. Morrill in orjraiiiz-

the Legislature, serving two years on
the Hoor of the Lower House,
In 1 8G2 Mr. Blaine was nominated
for Congress in the Kennel.ee District,

THE MAX AND HIS FAMILY.
Mr.. Blaine is in his fifty-fifth year.
Although above medicni height, he is
so compactly and powerfully built thai
he scarcely seems tall. His features
are lurge and expressive, h is slightly
bald and his neatly t rimed beard is
prematurely gray; his brows are lower
inghis eyes Wn. Hia homo in
Augusta, near the Stale House, is a
plain two-story house. Several institu
tions in the S'.ate have received bene
factions from him, and his charity and
irenerosify are appreciated at home.
In his own home he is a man of culture
and refinement, a genial host, a courte
ous gentleman He is the companion
and confident of his six children, and
they fear him no more than they fear
one of their own number. Mrs, Blaine
is the model wife and mother, and
more is due to her strong judgment
and quick perception and heroic cour
age than the world will ever know.
The Hillside Standard has unearthed
the following horrible transaction:
"Mrs way, while cleaning house,
asked her husband to nail op some ( );
ho refused; she looked ft At him, told
him hit conduct was without nnd heat
