On Saturday last, W. S. Searey, of
Fort Townsend, who was on Whidby
Island, discovered near Esbey's landing,
ft shark washed ashore. On cutting the
ftcquatio monster open a few wads of
human hair were found in his capacious
maw. This hair upon close examina
tion was found to be about 3 inches in
length, slightly gray, and undoubtedly
from the head of a white person. Nu
merous suggestions were made by spec
tators that it was exactly like the hair of
the deceased Frank Wellington who was
lost last fall somewhere Iwtween Tort
Townsend and Smith 'a Island. This is
mere speculation, however.
