town, was returning home on horseback, he

They then struck him on the head with a

lieve a twothinls crop has been harvested.
The fall wheat is np to the avenge as to
yield, but we hear some complaint about
ome of it being shriveled. The Spring
wheat has produced over a one-third yield,
but very little is inert hantable. A num
ber of field, of Spring wheat will not be cnt,
the farmers having turned their atock into
them; while others have cut only because
tbey owned tt.e machinery and coold cat it
at a very tittle expense, making a cheap
feed.
