Church, was a grand success in every particular. X here was a very large attendance, aud plays and musio were indulged iu until about half-past ten o'clock, when supper was anuouueed aud all adjourned to the dining room, where there were tables loaded with everything intended to subdue a craving appetite. After supper was over all returned to the parlor, where the programme of the early part of the even ing was kept up until quite a late hour, when all returned to their homes well pleased with the evening's auiusomeut Absconded. Mr. W. D. Pago, formerly of the Astor House iu this cilv, aud who for the past year or two has been living out of town a short distance, suddenly disappeared last Saturday. The circumstances of his leaving as near as we cau hear are about these: Last Saturday he camo into town, and indulged quite freely iu liquor, and re turned to his home near nighttiill. After ar riving at home it was found that lie had for gotten to take some things with him which the family needed. Ho said he would - come to town for them, aud gettiug ou his horse started. The next day his horso was found bitched a short distance below Jtowo, aud fears of foul play were indulged iu for a while. It sooms, however, that these sur mises were ill-founded, for the middle of this week a letter was received from hint dated at Roseburg, aud stated in effect that he left this portion of the country weile laboring nuder "slight aberration of mind." Let us hope that no other "aberration" will strike him again soon. Report ol the Grand Jury.
