Ho may be a humbug, a uiiiely-nine oat of a hundred such trinket peddlers are, but if he hu.nhuggcd anybody, it is their fault as much as his. It is his business to fish for gudgeons, and if they are silly enough to nibble at his bait, it is then own fault if they get hooked. If one ol these fellows co.nes to town and violates the law, the law is amply Bullicient to set him ritfht without reporting to aiiy blackguird means to accomplish the purpose. But it they follow their calling without violation of law, they have just aa much right to the pro tection of the law as anybody else.
