Bound Over. Hugh McCaully, who has been teaching school at various places in this county during the past two years, was arrest ed by Sheriff Eakin on a writ from Clacka mas county. On Wednesday of last week he was examined before Justice Athey at Oregon City on a charge of obtaining money under false pretenses. He sold to a Mr. Morcland a check on the U. S. Treasury, and then ob tained the check and drew the money on it, applying it to his own uses. He was bound over to appear before the next Grand Jury. Oregon Fruit. In a letter written from Philadelphia to the New York Tribune, on the display of fruits at the Centennial, we find the following: "Oregon displays 12 va rieties of apples, 13 of plums and prunes, and 13 of pears. This fruit forms one of several shipments made at great expense. The qual ity is excellent Oregon is unexcelled even by California for raising good fruit, and its apples are superior." Sentenced. A. F. Frazier, who' was con victed on a indictment for abducting a female under sixteen years of age, was on Thursday sentenced by Judge Watson to one year's im prisonment in the penitentiary. Moral : Go to Coffin, at his establishment on Ninth street, and get your cider. The Wheat market. Oregonian ICth. The latest telegrams concerning the Eng lish grain markets show a declining tenden cy, but the change has not materially affected prices on this coast, nor will it have that re sult here, until the) depreciation' abroad is more pronounced, or until the vessels now at hand and chartered are got off. There is a goodly number of holders on the market with lots ranging from few hundred to thousands of bushels, lut the offers to sell at current rates are not near so numerous, and export ers take all fair lots at quoted prices. Twenty-five vessels have loaded since the' com mencement of the harvest year for European ports direct, while the shipments of .wheat and flour to San Francisco, China and British Columbia have been considerable, and a com parison of the statistics show that the total shipments of the present season have been quite up to and perhaps beyond the average for the past three years. The low prices rul ing throughout the entire season have doubt less induced many farmers who are financial ly able to do so, to hold their wheat back in anticipation of realizing better figures later in the season. The prospects of a war in Eu rope for a time seemed to encourage that hope, but the war cloud having almost en tirely cleared away, it is seen bv the tele- raphic report from London and Liverpool urine the past ten days that those markets have settled down into the same condition as before, and only made to rise and fall by the weather, prnsect of the growing crops and incidental circumstances which may arise and disappear within a week's time. Hence the pir)cta are that the aame unsteadiness which characterized the market a month ago will be witnessed at least during the remain der of 1876. There is a feeling among deal ers here that the present standard of prices will be maintained, with perhaps an occasion al slight fluctuation until the holidays. We can sea but little in the commercial horizon at present to contradict this impression. BOB. Nov. 12, to th wife of W. D. Woodcock, a son. Nov. 13, to th wife of J. C. Lemley, a arm. HARRIED.
